One of my performance reviews once said, “Robin has an innate ability to break down difficult information and relay it to the layman.” That review was about 27 years ago, and I’ve kept it in mind since.
I’m thankful for this ability because I collect a lot of data, from change impact to change readiness, which is then shared with the decision-makers. Data alone tells us nothing. What the client wants to know is what does it mean and why it matters.
This graphic is a great reminder (for me at least) to spend less time working on making the presentation nice, which I often get hung up on, and more time on telling the story of the data so that it makes sense.
